Is your tooth sealant hiding a cavity?
That sealant that you have on your tooth. It may not be doing what you want it to be doing anymore. You know, sealants are great as an adolescent. They seal out really deep grooves in an age group that is not necessarily the best at taking care of their teeth. And a lot of times those sealants will hang around into adulthood, and that can be a good thing. And it may not a good thing. Let me show you an example of how this can be a liability for you. This particular patient came in and we noticed some shadowing under a sealant. And this is what is underneath that sealant. It’s a really big cavity. It doesn’t mean that your tooth is 100% safe for the rest of your life if the sealant is still on it. Please call and schedule a checkup with us.
