Preventive Care vs. Reactive Care
Nicole here! I’d like to show you the difference between preventive and reactive dental care. First, let’s talk definitions.
Preventive (adj.): designed to keep something undesirable such as illness, harm, or accidents from occurring
Reactive (adj.): done in response to a problem or situation instead of doing something to prevent it
You can see where this is going.
So inevitably, you start to feel a little pain but not so much that it’s too unbearable. And, you react.
But if the pain isn’t too bad, maybe you just promise yourself you’ll brush more and just kind of wait and see.
But then it happens. You’re out eating ice cream one day and boom.
And your first reaction, of course, is to be like, “I have to go to the dentist in Oklahoma City, whatever it costs.”
Our financial priorities tend to change when we’re in immediate pain. That’s reactive dental care. And it can be an… investment. It will almost always cost more to fix a problem than to prevent it.
Preventive Care is definitely something to smile about. So, that’s what we call it. Smile Dental Care.
Smile Care is continuous, preventive care. It means that in addition to taking care of your teeth at home, every six months you come in for professional OKC teeth cleaning & exam.
You can spot problems before they get too out of hand and in many cases, prevent them altogether.
And now, you can set your preventive care on auto-pilot. Smile Care is our in-house dental savings membership club.
That’s a lot of words, I know.
You pay low-monthly dues and you’ll never have to worry about coming up with the extra cash every six months when it’s time for your regular cleaning and checkup. Because it’s included, 100%.
Now, that’s something to smile about.
